St. Kizito Primary School is a beacon of hope for children in Kitanga Village, located in the rural Masaka District. As a cornerstone of the community, the school provides primary education to hundreds of children from underprivileged backgrounds. Despite its pivotal role, the school faces significant challenges, including limited healthcare access and hygiene resources. Many of the children here suffer from preventable health issues, such as intestinal worms, which negatively impact their ability to concentrate and succeed in school. Additionally, girls often miss school due to a lack of access to menstrual hygiene products.
The upcoming Deworming Project will provide essential treatments to combat worm infections, improving the nutritional status and overall well-being of the students. Alongside this, the MACFO Pads Project will supply reusable sanitary pads and menstrual health education to empower girls to manage their menstruation with dignity and confidence. These initiatives aim to reduce school absenteeism and improve the long-term health and academic outcomes of the students at St. Kizito, creating a healthier, more productive future for the community.
