Kajwa Village Borehole Project

In Kajwa Village, residents have long faced immense challenges accessing clean water, with families traveling over 6 kilometers daily in search of this basic necessity. Moreover, the village lacks a school, forcing children to walk even greater distances for education. Recognizing the urgent need for sustainable solutions, the Macfo Foundation has launched a new borehole project on December 1, 2024, in partnership with the German Red Cross and the Bambisana Group.

This initiative aims to transform Kajwa Village by providing reliable access to clean water and addressing critical community needs, paving the way for improved health, education, and resilience.

Objectives and Project Impact

1. Safe Drinking Water for All

The borehole will supply clean and safe drinking water to Kajwa’s households, significantly reducing waterborne diseases and enhancing overall community health.

2. Improved Quality of Life

With access to nearby water, women and children will no longer need to walk long distances, freeing up time for other essential activities such as education and income generation.

3. Community Empowerment

By providing essential infrastructure, this project strengthens Kajwa Village, laying the groundwork for future developments, including education initiatives to address the absence of a local school.
