How Small Acts of Kindness Make a Big.

In October, MACFO Uganda will launch two life-changing initiatives to improve the health and education of children in rural Uganda: the Deworming Project and the MACFO Pads Project. These efforts will take place at St. Kizito Primary School, Kaseeta Primary School, and Bisanje Moslem Primary School in Masaka District, targeting both the health challenges caused by intestinal worms and the barriers girls face due to inadequate menstrual hygiene management.

St. Kizito Primary School

In Kitanga Village, St. Kizito Primary School will host the October events aimed at tackling health and educational barriers. The Deworming Project will provide vital treatments to reduce worm-related illnesses among children, which contribute to poor health and hinder academic progress. Alongside this, the MACFO Pads Project will distribute reusable sanitary pads to girls and offer menstrual hygiene education, empowering them to manage their menstruation with dignity and enabling them to attend school consistently.

Kaseeta Primary School

In Kaseeta Village, Kaseeta Primary School will benefit from these dual initiatives. The Deworming Project will offer essential treatments to combat intestinal worms, improving the health and energy levels of the students. For the girls, the MACFO Pads Project will provide reusable pads and education on menstrual hygiene. This initiative will break down barriers to education, ensuring that menstruation does not keep girls out of the classroom and away from learning opportunities.

Bisanje Moslem Primary School

At Bisanje Moslem Primary School in Bisanje Village, students will receive deworming treatments to address the widespread issue of intestinal worms. Additionally, the MACFO Pads Project will supply reusable pads and provide menstrual hygiene education to girls, ensuring that menstruation does not disrupt their education. This holistic approach to health and hygiene will promote better academic outcomes and empower students to take control of their futures.

A Healthier, Brighter Future

These October events will have a lasting impact on the students of St. Kizito, Kaseeta, and Bisanje Moslem Primary Schools. By addressing both deworming and menstrual hygiene, MACFO Uganda is improving the health, well-being, and educational prospects of children in rural Uganda. With fewer health-related absences and better access to menstrual hygiene products, students will be able to focus on their studies, building a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
